The Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for Kabardino-Balkaria reported that an investigation is being conducted into the outbreak of intestinal infection in the region.

It is emphasized that law enforcement officers are conducting an analysis of water samples in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic.

The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the region states on its official Telegram channel: “As a result of the incident, 70 people were hospitalized.”

Including 200 local residents who sought medical assistance from the relevant institutions.

According to investigative authorities, local residents began visiting doctors due to intestinal infections at the end of August of this year.

The victims also showed symptoms similar to those of food poisoning.

Law enforcement officers are implementing investigative measures in connection with the ongoing situation.
