The Russian President commented on the results of the combat use of the Oreshnik ballistic missile.
Vladimir Putin spoke on this topic on Friday, November 22, during a meeting with the leadership of the Ministry of Defense.
The combat use of a hypersonic ballistic missile without nuclear warheads took place the day before.
Today, Putin summed up the results of the tests at a meeting with the department’s leadership, TASS reports.
The Russian leader said that he was proud and delighted with the new development of the domestic military-industrial complex (MIC).
The President thanked the team that worked on the creation of Oreshnik.
He stressed that in the case of this missile, it is not a question of upgrading existing systems. This is a completely new development that will be adopted into service.
Putin pointed out that the Oreshnik has such high accuracy that this missile cannot be classified as a weapon of mass destruction.
The head of state added that the rocket’s developers will be nominated for state awards.
