The Chairperson of the Federation Council spoke about the stage at which the initiative to ban the “childfree” ideology is currently.

Valentina Matvienko spoke on this topic at the 4th Eurasian Women's Forum.

In the future, the so-called "childfree" ideology may be banned in Russia. We are talking about people who have consciously refused to have children.

Matviyenko called for a legislative ban on this ideology imposed by the West, RIA Novosti reports.

According to her, the Ministry of Justice and a group of experts are currently discussing a ban on “childfree” in Russia.

But the speaker of the Federation Council clarified that the fight of the law will be directed at the movement itself, and not at people who simply do not want to give birth.

No one will force women to have children, it is their right, explains Matvienko.

At the same time, the state will not stand aside when the “childfree” ideology develops in society.
