A candidate of medical sciences explained at what pulse rate one should sound the alarm.

General practitioner Andrei Kondrakhin named two indicators after which a danger to life arises.

The doctor told Moscow 24 that a normal pulse rate is between 55 and 80 beats per minute.

If the pulse is below 45 or above 130, you need to call an ambulance.

At a high heart rate, the heart is not working efficiently. The organ contracts so rapidly that it does not fill with blood.

High load on the heart can lead to a heart attack, a doctor warned.

A low pulse can also be fatal. In such cases, people lose consciousness and then cardiac arrest may occur.

The organs are poorly supplied with blood. The heart contracts so rarely that the intensity of blood delivery drops to critical values.

At 45 or less beats, organs and tissues do not receive enough blood, which leads to loss of consciousness and cardiac arrest.
