Russian museum workers opened the time capsule and were amused by some points in the message.
However, some predictions made a quarter of a century ago have come true.
Details were published on the website of the Taimyr Museum of Local History.
The message was compiled by employees of the Dudinka seaport.
One of the funniest predictions is that in the future, submarines will be used to transport cargo across the sea.
Another suggestion is that an oil pipeline will be built from Dikson to Dudinka.
Some of the workers' predictions came true.
In particular, they admitted that in the future Russians will be provided with access to the Internet.
The port employees were also confident that in 25 years the region’s infrastructure would become more developed.
In addition, workers in 1999 believed that mass computerization would occur by the end of the first quarter of the 21st century.
This time capsule will become an exhibit in the local history museum.
