The lower house of parliament wanted to provide free housing to one category of Russian citizens.

LDPR deputy Leonid Slutsky proposed providing free apartments to retired employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

In an interview with Izvestia , the State Duma member noted that the prospect of acquiring one’s own home is a key incentive for people who want to work in law enforcement agencies.

Slutsky believes that the state should make work in the Ministry of Internal Affairs more attractive for Russians.

And he suggested starting with housing. Starting in 2027, start giving apartments to pensioners for free, and before that, provide active police officers with their own "square meters."

The politician noted that law enforcement officers have a dangerous job. These people regularly risk their lives to ensure the safety of citizens.

Therefore, the deputy believes that current law enforcement officers and veterans of the Ministry of Internal Affairs should not wait decades for the benefits that they are entitled to.
