State Duma deputies have proposed introducing a punishment of up to life imprisonment for organizing a rebellion.
This refers to the initiation of a rebellion that resulted in the death of a person.
The relevant draft law states: “A rebellion aimed at overthrowing the constitutional order of the Russian Federation must be punished severely,” as reported by RIA Novosti .
In addition, it is indicated that a rebellion aimed at violating the territorial integrity of the Russian Federation is unacceptable.
The punishment for such an offense, according to the authors of the decree, should be imprisonment of the perpetrators for a term of 15 to 20 years with imprisonment for two years.

Those who commit the crime will also have to pay a fine.
The amount of the fine is expected to range from five hundred thousand to one million rubles.
When calculating the fine, the amount of the convicted person’s salary or other income will be taken into account.
