State Duma deputies have come up with an initiative regarding students in general education institutions.
According to parliamentarians, children do not have enough lessons on health.
This proposal was put forward by the first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Health Protection, Leonid Ogul, RIA Novosti reports.
According to Ogul, schools need classes called "My Health." In them, schoolchildren could learn a lot about personal hygiene, as well as about sleep patterns and nutrition.
First-graders would receive basic knowledge regarding health issues, while older schoolchildren could be told about the harm or benefits of certain foods, as well as about physical activity and daily routine.
The parliamentarian also stressed the importance of these lessons, as they can teach high school students practical skills. For example, Ogul suggested teaching about first aid in health lessons.
In his opinion, an unfortunate omission is the fact that many graduates end up not knowing the basics of first aid.
