The State Duma has identified the danger that medical bloggers and the information they disseminate on the Internet may pose.
According to parliamentarians, bloggers must have the appropriate education in order to provide medical advice.
This comment was given to RIA Novosti by the Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Health Protection, Badma Bashankaev.
Let us recall that on Monday, the State Duma began a specialized session devoted to the blogosphere. It discusses issues of improving legislation related to the activities of bloggers.
According to the parliamentarian, clear legislative decisions are needed that would completely close the entrance of non-professionals into the field of professional medicine.
Medical blogs should be run by doctors, Bashankaev emphasized.
Only such measures, the parliamentarian believes, will allow that part of the Internet where medical information is posted to be safe for people’s health.
