The State Duma has adopted new measures that tighten the activities of foreign agents in Russia.
Now the income of people with this status will be credited to special accounts.
Information about the adopted bill was confirmed by the RIA Novosti agency.
From now on, foreign agents will be able to receive income only by transferring funds to a special account opened in rubles. Its opening will be mandatory for each of the 493 people with foreign agent status.
It is noted that each foreign agent will have the right to open only one special account. In addition, people with this status will be able to manage funds received on such an account only after the corresponding status is removed from them.
Moreover, if the foreign agent does not open such an account independently, the one who pays him the fee will be forced to do so.
According to State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin, such measures are necessary to ensure that Russians do not pay out of their own pockets for the activities of people who do not hide their hostile attitude toward Russia and its citizens.
