State Duma deputies approved a law increasing the maximum period for vehicle repairs under compulsory motor vehicle liability insurance.
The corresponding bill was adopted by parliamentarians in the first reading on Tuesday, November 12.
Deputies voted to increase the maximum period for repairs under compulsory motor vehicle liability insurance from 30 to 45 working days, TASS reports.
The basis for revising the deadline was the sanctions pressure.
There is a shortage of spare parts on the market and there are difficulties in the context of timely procurement.
In such conditions, car dealers and insurance companies are unable to meet previously established deadlines. Because of this, they are forced to terminate agreements with service stations.
After the final adoption of the law, the period will be increased to 45 days.
If these repair deadlines are violated, penalties will be assessed.
The Russian government also supports this bill.
