The State Duma adopted a new amendment concerning maternity capital.
The unspent balance can now be retrieved.
RIA Novosti reports this with reference to the decision adopted in the State Duma.
In order to receive the remainder of the maternity capital, one condition must be met: the remaining funds must not exceed 10 thousand rubles.
In this case, people can expect to receive it as a one-time payment.
It is noted that this initiative was previously put forward by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting with the families who won the “It’s Family for Us” competition.
The proposal of the Russian President was supported by the Speaker of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin, who noted that the initiative would affect approximately 730 thousand Russian families.
The parliamentarian stressed that the amendment will come into force immediately after publication, so many families will be able to take advantage of the opportunity to receive the above-mentioned amount in the shortest possible time.
Accordingly, the payment can be used to prepare children for school or for vacation.
