The Ministry of Internal Affairs warned Russians about a possible surge in fraud in Russia.
It is expected that criminals may intensify their criminal activity in the run-up to September 1.
This warning was issued by the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Irina Volk.
In her Telegram channel, the expert introduced Russians to a new method of fraud that was identified by law enforcement officers.
As Volk noted, the new criminal scheme affects the parents of children who will soon go to school after the summer holidays.
In this regard, scammers use surveys on topics that concern parents of children.
The most common of these are:
- surveys where you need to provide a login and password, containing a link to a fraudulent website;
- invitations to chats, requests to vote or transfer money for non-existent excursions;
- promotions and sales, in which links to fraudulent resources are disguised as pages of well-known marketplaces with sales for Knowledge Day.
