He reported that foreign banks are increasingly refusing to accept old-style banknotes, TASS reports.
The problem does exist, but it is not related to the citizenship of the person who wants to exchange such bills.
Both Russians and residents of other countries face it. Even some Russian banks refuse to accept old banknotes.
Kondratyev noted that this is a global trend and is connected with the foresight of banks that want to play it safe.
Organizations want to have fresher banknotes at their disposal.
The representative of the Ministry of Economic Development emphasized that stories about “infringement of the rights of Russians” abroad in this case are far-fetched and have nothing to do with reality.
