Experts explained whether fraudsters can steal apartments of Russians through the State Services portal.

A comment on this topic appeared on the official Telegram channel of the Ministry of Digital Development.

Representatives of the department reported that “Gosuslugi” does not have functionality that allows one to buy or sell real estate.

“The news that fraudsters can take possession of someone else’s apartment on “Gosuslugi” is fake,” the experts emphasized.

Before this, information appeared in the media that the attackers could allegedly make a deal to sell an apartment through “Gosuslugi”.

To do this, they require the owner's electronic digital signature, which they can obtain in various ways.

They will also need passport data, SNILS, and INN. Scans of these documents, as some experts claim, are sold on specialized forums on the Internet.

The Ministry of Digital Development explained that such information does not actually correspond to reality.

Through "Gosuslugi", the user can submit an application to Rosreestr for registration of property rights. A decision on this will be made only after a thorough verification of the grounds.

It is impossible to forge an electronic signature, say agency representatives.

It is protected by a number of tools, including passwords and mandatory identity verification. The latter is carried out in person or using a passport or biometrics.
