Senator Olga Epifanova spoke about how the Russian pension system needs to be further improved.
The member of the Federation Council from the Komi Republic highlighted several areas.
In an interview with Gazeta.Ru , the politician indicated that pension indexation should be carried out in accordance with the dynamics of growth of average salaries.
Epifanova also spoke in favor of revising the benefits for Russian companies on insurance contributions to the Social Fund.
Such concessions for the private sector reduce the volume of revenues and increase the dependence of the pension system on the budget.
In addition, the senator proposed eliminating the maximum income from which insurance premiums are paid.
According to Epifanova, this limit increases annually at a high rate, which deprives the majority of citizens of the opportunity to receive the maximum pension point.
The senator noted that the Russian pension system must develop further to better meet new realities.
She recalled that the proportion of elderly people in the world is growing. In Russia, by 2036, it will be 24.1%.
