The 2nd Western District Military Court is holding a trial against the man accused of attempting to assassinate the writer Zakhar Prilepin.
The state prosecutor insists that Alexander Permyakov be sentenced to life imprisonment.

The state prosecution insists that the defendant in the case spend the first 10 years in prison and the rest of the term in a special regime penal colony.
The court may also sentence the accused to a fine of 1.5 million rubles.
It is noted that Permyakov fully admitted his guilt under three articles. He is accused of organizing a terrorist attack, illegal possession of weapons, using a fake ID and undergoing training to commit a terrorist attack.
Circumstances of the case
The assassination attempt on the writer took place in May 2023.
Permyakov was given anti-tank mines, from which he made explosive devices and attached them to Prilepin’s car.
As a result of the explosion that occurred on May 6, the writer’s driver was killed and Prilepin himself was injured.
