The agency has compiled a preliminary list of signs by which Russians may have their summer cottages and land for individual housing construction confiscated.
More details about the list were reported by the press service of Rosreestr on Monday, August 12.
From March 1, 2025, Russians will have three years to develop land plots in populated areas, gardening and vegetable gardening associations, RBC reports.
If the development process has not started, this will be a reason for an inspection. The signs revealed during it may become the basis for the seizure of the site.
This primarily concerns lands that are swampy, littered or overgrown with weeds.
A plot of land may be classified as unused if the foundation has not been built within 2 years or the constructed building has not been registered within 5 years.
The same applies to situations where there are buildings on the site, but they are not used for their intended purpose.
With these innovations, the authorities want to influence owners who have not used the land for years.
So far, only a draft of the document has been made public. The final version may still be changed.
