The Ministry of Labor plans to make December 31, 2025, a holiday.

The head of the department, Anton Kotyakov, spoke about this.

Based on the plans of the Ministry of Labor, Russians will rest on December 31 for two years in a row, RIA Novosti reports.

In 2024, the last day of the year is a day off. The government approved this decision in the summer of 2023. The same is planned for 2025.

This will become possible given the postponement of all dates, Kotyakov said.

LDPR members proposed making December 31 a day off on a permanent basis. In January 2023, the government supported the initiative.

This option assumes that the New Year holidays will begin on December 31. This period will also include the period from January 1 to 6.

At the same time, the total number of red days in the calendar, recorded in the Labor Code of Russia, remains the same.

Earlier, a bill on increasing fines for debt collectors was introduced to the State Duma.
