Experts have explained how things are going with issuing Schengen visas to Russians.
The comment was shared by the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR).
The Spanish consulate issues a visa within 2-3 weeks. But it is not so easy to register at the visa center. The web resource hangs a lot, and free slots appear rarely, ATOR reports.
The French mission considers the application longer and issues the visa in 3-4 weeks. But even in this case there are problems with the appointment. There are "windows" for October, but they are quickly taken.
It is a bit easier to register at visa centers of other countries. But, for example, the representations of Hungary and Greece require purchased airline tickets and a paid hotel.
The waiting period for an Italian Schengen visa is 50-60 days. Bulgaria, before the suspension of document acceptance, issued visas in 15 days. Now the period can reach 45 days.
In 2023, almost 450 thousand Russians applied for Schengen visas. 54 thousand people, or every tenth, were refused.
