Fraudsters have once again begun to use a fraudulent scheme that has already become classic.

Russians are being deceived by being offered non-existent social benefits in honor of the New Year.

Analysts reported that before the holidays, Telegram users began to be attacked by cybercriminals 19 times more often.

Izvestia reports that a false promise to pay out money under the state program “A Gift to Every Home” is popular.

Experts note that there are no such programs in Russia.

Trusting Russians are promised 10,000 or almost 17,500 rubles.

Such messages are distributed on Telegram.

Fraudsters try to make them as believable as possible.

Special channels are created and then messages with the terms of the program are published.

The text is accompanied by a photograph of the Russian president and supplemented with official wording to inspire confidence in citizens.

In practice, no funds arrive.

Users who follow the link and provide the requested information lose access to their Telegram account.
