Russia plans to revise requirements for importing air conditioners and refrigerators.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade has begun to receive requests from small and large businesses in connection with changes in the procedure for importing ozone-depleting substances and products containing such substances.
Deputy Minister Vladimir Ilyichev in his letter to the EEC asked to figure out what documents should be relied upon when restricting the import of such substances. This is reported by RBC .
According to the new rules, the permit procedure for importing products containing refrigerants now includes not only single gases, but also their mixtures.
In this regard, sellers point out the inevitability of an increase in the cost and delivery times of air conditioners and refrigerators.
The Association of Trading Companies and Manufacturers of Household Electrical and Computer Equipment warned that up to 80% of air conditioners and 50% of refrigerators imported into Russia could fall under the new rules.
The Working Group on Non-Tariff Measures of Regulation in Foreign Trade discussed this issue and decided to consider it at the EEC meeting.
