Drivers of cars and motorcycles who exceed the noise level on the roads will be fined.
Representatives of the LDPR have proposed an effective method for combating loud exhaust fumes on Russian roads.
The State Duma wants to increase the fine for exceeding the noise level to 25 thousand rubles from the previous 500 rubles, RIA Novosti writes.
According to the coordinator of the Moscow city branch of the party, Roman Krastelev, the police of St. Petersburg successfully use this method of punishing drivers of vehicles with loud mufflers.
The expert also said that Moscow should adopt this experience.
If the law is passed, the fine for exceeding the noise level on the roads will increase 50 times – from 500 rubles to 25 thousand rubles.
The State Duma has repeatedly stated that violators behind the wheel are given away by tinted windows, driving on the shoulder, and loud exhaust sounds.
An experimental complex for measuring vehicle noise has already been launched in Moscow.
Krastelev explained that it is necessary to certify the recording cameras, determine the degree of responsibility of drivers, and make changes to the legislation.
