Russian specialists conducted scheduled annual exercises.
During the development of the established protocols, Russia was partially disconnected from the global Internet.
Internet access was restricted in Dagestan, TASS reports, citing the telecommunications company Ellco.
Some users reported problems accessing some foreign web resources and online services.
The reason given was the Roskomnadzor (RKN) exercises. The agency assessed the readiness of the domestic Internet infrastructure to function in the event of external interference.
Roskomnadzor has made sure that Russians will not lose access to national web resources in the event of a powerful cyberattack by foreign enemies.
The agency assessed the extent to which Russian infrastructure is ready to operate in such situations.
To achieve this, it was necessary to partially disconnect some areas from the global Internet.
It is emphasized that such exercises are held every year. This event is held within the framework of the Russian Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 1316 of October 12, 2019.
The schedule of events is approved by the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media in agreement with the FSB and Roskomnadzor.
