Vladimir Medinsky believes that 11 years of school education is an unaffordable luxury.

The presidential aide believes that in the near future the length of study in schools and higher education institutions in Russia will be reduced.

Medinsky noted that the realities of the modern world require that teenagers begin to engage in career guidance as early as possible, TASS reports.

The official believes that 11 years to obtain secondary education is the level of the century before last.

In such conditions, young people only begin to think about what they would like to do at the age of 19.

The presidential aide is confident that Russians should ask themselves such questions earlier.

Now the period for receiving a school education should be “compressed,” Medinsky emphasized.

He believes that significant changes will occur in this area in the next 10 years.

The transformations will also affect university education. Five-six-year education will become a thing of the past, Medinsky believes.

In addition, the program itself will become more specialized.

The official also formulated the motto of the new era: whoever does not learn something new will become uncompetitive.
