Rostelecom President Mikhail Oseevsky made a statement regarding the personal data of Russian citizens.

The head of the organization stated that the personal information of Russians has long been “leaked” and is available to attackers.

Personal data of all citizens was stolen during massive cyber attacks, RIA Novosti reports.

We are talking about a “complete set” of information: telephone number, address, SNILS, and so on.

According to Oseevsky, today the greatest threat is posed by attempts by fraudsters to gain access to Russians’ accounts on the State Services portal.

The head of Rostelecom emphasized that the importance of this portal is now difficult to overestimate.

The head of the organization pointed out that today “Gosuslugi” is the center of citizen relations with a huge number of government agencies.

Oseevsky believes that it is time to reform the system of collecting and storing personal data.

In his opinion, mass leaks of personal data occurred, among other things, because they can be collected by “a huge number of companies.”

Now, Oseevsky emphasized, the issue of centralizing information is at stake.

It is necessary to leave a limited number of departments and companies that can collect and store personal data of citizens.

It is also necessary to organize reliable protection of this information from hacker attacks.
