The head of the department explained in which cases Russians risk losing their rights to a summer cottage.
The head of Rosreestr Oleg Skufinsky spoke about the mechanism and nuances of the new law.
Now Russians have 3 years to start using the land they purchased or inherited, RBC reports.
The authorities took into account that owners often need quite a lot of time to begin using the land for its intended purpose.
For example, it happens that the site is swampy or overgrown with vegetation. In addition, a person needs time to design a house to bring in communications.
That is why it was decided to give 3 years for the development of the land.
If this period has expired, and the regulatory authorities have established that the owner is not doing anything with it, then the citizen first receives a warning.
After this, the owner has six months to correct the violations.
If nothing happens after 6 months, Rosreestr initiates legal proceedings through the competent authority within 30 days. The issue of confiscating the land is raised.
Skufinsky added that the adopted norm does not introduce new grounds for deprivation of land rights and fines.
