Rospotrebnadzor is monitoring the situation with the environmental disaster in the region.

Experts took water samples from the beaches of Anapa, previously contaminated with fuel oil from tankers.

The results, as RIA Novosti learned from the Rospotrebnadzor Administration for Krasnodar Krai, were disappointing.

Let us recall that an emergency occurred in the Kerch Strait area due to the crash of two tankers transporting fuel oil on December 15.

As a result, 3.7 thousand tons of oil products ended up in the water, which is why a state of emergency was declared in the region.

Experts collected 24 samples of sea water in the following locations:

  • village of Dzhemete;
  • village Vityazevo;
  • village of Blagoveshchenskaya;
  • areas of the sanatoriums "Vysokiy Bereg" and "Bimlyuk";
  • central beach of Anapa and others.

As a result, it turned out that only 13 samples out of 24 meet the standards. The remaining 9 were recognized by Rospotrebnadzor as not meeting sanitary and chemical indicators.

It is noted that the disappointing results of the study concern only sea water. Air samples, as well as drinking water, comply with the standards.
