The department believes that if the OGE is cancelled, it will deal a blow to schoolchildren’s motivation.
This exam should be retained, but it needs to be improved, according to representatives of Rosobrnadzor.
In Russia, there is no need to cancel the Basic State Exam (OGE), RIA Novosti reports on the department’s position.
The OGE, which is taken after the 9th grade, does not need to be cancelled, but improved.
If it is abandoned, students will simply lose motivation to master academic subjects, according to representatives of Rosobrnadzor.
The agency proposes to work on improving the procedure for state final certification, which is carried out after completion of the ninth grade.
The State Duma previously rejected a proposal by LDPR deputies to abolish the mandatory Unified State Exam (USE).
Members of parliament called for giving schoolchildren a choice: to take the Unified State Exam or the classic version of the exam.

OGE is the final exam for basic general education courses in Russia.
