Roskomnadzor has spoken out about the possible blocking of the Steam service.
The department assured that such a question has not yet been raised.
RIA Novosti journalists received confirmation of this when they contacted representatives of the gaming platform.
Let us remind you that Steam is the largest online platform for purchasing computer games, as well as a social network for gamers.
Previously, Roskomnadzor recorded violations on the part of this platform, which posted prohibited content on its web resource.
However, when the agency asked the company to remove the inappropriate content, Steam's management complied with these conditions.
At the moment, 250 materials of a prohibited nature have been removed. According to Roskomnadzor, Steam is expected to remove another 10 web pages with prohibited content.
Since the company complies with Roskomnadzor's requirements, there are no plans to ban Russians from accessing it, as is the case with Discord.
Roskomnadzor reminded that the decision to block is not made immediately. First, the resource owner receives a notification that the link is included in the Unified Register of Prohibited Information, and therefore it should be promptly removed.
