Subsequently, the stolen funds are transferred to these cards, as reported by RIA Novosti .
Experts added: "Previously, scammers simply bought the cards and got rid of them after implementing their scheme. Now they are more cunning."
New strategy
As analysts emphasized, the attackers are seeking to place responsibility for their crimes on the original owners of the cards.
By renting bank cards, fraudsters convince their holders that it is completely safe.
According to VTB representatives, fraudsters often directly offer rewards to the third parties described above.
Analysts have called on people not to disseminate personal information under any circumstances, especially information related to bank cards.
