The United States has failed in its attempts to resolve the Palestinian conflict on its own.
Russian President Vladimir Putin made this statement at a meeting of the SCO Council of Heads of State in Astana.
He called Washington's steps ineffective and counterproductive against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the Gaza Strip, RIA Novosti writes.
Putin said that the United States had failed to resolve the Palestinian conflict on its own.
He also stressed that the escalation of the conflict in Gaza threatens the stability of the continent.
Putin summed up that the US's unilateral attempts to cut the Palestinian knot have proven counterproductive.
The Russian President called on countries to adhere to UN decisions that clearly provide for the peaceful coexistence of Israel and Palestine.
