Vladimir Putin approved the new composition of the presidential council for the development of physical culture and sports.
According to the presidential decree, the updated composition did not include Secretary of the Russian Security Council Sergei Shoigu and rhythmic gymnastics coach Irina Viner.
The document on the changes was published on the Official Portal of Legal Acts.
In addition to Shoigu and Viner, the governor of Primorsky Krai Oleg Kozhemyako and the minister of energy Sergei Tsivilev were excluded from the council.
The head of the Rostov region, Vasily Golubev, also was not included in the new composition, as follows from the document.
In early October, Irina Viner announced that she planned to leave her position.
She said that her management position does not allow her to fully concentrate on coaching.
Wiener has led the VFHG since 2008. She currently prefers to focus on working with figure skaters.
