Popova: Monkeypox does not pose any danger to Russia

The head of Rospotrebnadzor commented on the current situation with monkeypox in the world.

According to Anna Popova, this disease does not pose a danger to Russians.

The head of the department expressed this opinion in a conversation with the Life portal.

Let us recall that earlier the World Health Organization warned about the danger of monkeypox and declared a state of emergency in connection with its spread.

Popova emphasized that the Russian medical sector is ready to quickly respond and contain the spread of monkeypox. She recalled that during the entire period, only 3 cases of this disease were registered in Russia, all three were imported from abroad.

However, the disease is unlikely to be dangerous for Russian citizens.

The head of Rospotrebnadzor recalled the specific methods of transmission of the infection and expressed confidence that Russian citizens are not threatened by the monkeypox epidemic.
