On September 17, pagers and other devices exploded en masse in Lebanon.
This could mean that more such incidents could happen not only in Lebanon.
Political scientist and head of the expert council of the Expert Institute of Sociological Research Gleb Kuznetsov spoke about this in an interview with Lenta.ru .
He suggested that the factory that organized the mass production of gadgets capable of exploding produced more than just pagers and radios.
The production facility operated for a long time, and it is not known what could have been produced there.
The expert noted that traditional security devices find it difficult to detect such gadgets.
Kuznetsov emphasized that similar incidents, like those in Lebanon, could happen in any country in the world in the future.
Modern walk-through metal detectors and scanners are not capable of detecting devices with a detonation function.
Kuznetsov believes that the production and implementation of new technologies will take years.
