Child predators use a standard set of phrases in game chats.

Attackers send messages to children with the aim of moving the conversation to instant messengers.

Evgeny Chunikhin, business director of the cyber intelligence department at FACCT, told Lenta.ru that parents were warned about this.

He explained that criminals send young computer game fans phrases such as “I have a topic, let’s continue in a private message, what phone number do you have.”

According to the expert, there is no need to transfer communication from the game chat to messengers or email, where, apparently, there are means of protection against fraud.

Chunikhin warned that children should not share their contact information with strangers.

He also said that in another scenario, the scammer offers the child to improve their game character through a cheap exchange.

Fraudsters offer the victim to download a link to the code, and thus distribute malware.

They also try to extort logins and passwords from game accounts under various pretexts.

As a result, the victim loses control over their game character and inventory.
