The Ossetian Council has made a request to the St. Petersburg IPs.

The organization is asking to remove Ossetian pies filled with pork and chicken from sale.

The movement reported this on its Telegram channel.

The head of the Supreme Council of Ossetians, Zelim Vatayev, explained that pies filled with pork and chicken are an insult to the feelings of the Ossetian people.

This is because this dish has a sacred meaning for its people.

By eating three Ossetian pies, people thus turn to the Almighty with gratitude for his gifts.

At the same time, both pig and chicken are considered so-called dirty animals in the Ossetian tradition. Therefore, in the history of the country, their meat has never been used to prepare the dish.

Consequently, for Ossetians such a marketing move can be considered sacrilege and an insult to the feelings of believers.

In this regard, the public organization asks individual entrepreneurs to remove inappropriate dishes from their menu.
