A narcologist spoke out about the myth about alcohol that many Russians believe in.

As the specialist emphasized, alcoholic drinks do not help with acute respiratory viral infections and colds.

Moscow psychiatrist-narcologist Anton Masyakin gave this comment to RIA Novosti .

The expert reminded that acute respiratory infection cannot be treated with mulled wine or any other folk methods associated with the consumption of alcoholic beverages.

On the contrary: any glass of alcohol drunk during illness will inevitably cause the body much more harm than usual.

This is why, during the course of the disease, you should turn to official medicine, which offers special medications that allow you to quickly recover.

The doctor recalled that in ancient times, diseases were treated with bloodletting. And this barbaric method is comparable to treating ARVI with alcohol.

Therefore, alcohol during illness is a categorical no-no, the expert added in conclusion.
