Healthy sleep is important for the normal functioning of the body and good productivity during the day.

In case of lack of sleep, a person's condition can significantly worsen.

The risk of early death increases by 30% if a person sleeps less than 6 hours a day. RIA Novosti reports details with reference to Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko.

It is noted that citizens who spend less than 5 hours sleeping are more prone to gaining excess weight than people who sleep a normal number of hours.

According to Murashko, sleeping less than 6 hours a day increases the likelihood of developing heart and vascular problems by 48%.

He added that not only lack of sleep but also prolonged stress can lead to cardiovascular diseases. It increases the risk of developing these diseases by 40-60%.
