State Duma deputy Igor Antropenko reported that in Russia they want to oblige couples to consult with a psychologist before divorce.
It is emphasized that the deputies intend to introduce a corresponding bill.
Antropenko noted: “The changes will affect certain couples,” as reported by Komsomolskaya Pravda .
In particular, families with minor children will have to seek advice from specialists.
The measure will also apply to couples in which one spouse is against the dissolution of the marriage.
New initiative
It follows from the explanatory note to the regulatory legal act that the court’s ability to take measures to resolve disputes between husband and wife will be regulated.
The settlement may take up to three months.
It is emphasized that within the specified time, couples will have to reconcile or make a final decision on divorce.
During the reconciliation period, according to the new rules, divorcing couples will be provided with social and psychological counseling.
