Bloggers and owners of channels with over 10,000 subscribers will be required to transfer their data to the state.
The State Duma Committee on Information Policy has initiated a corresponding amendment to the Law “On Communications”.
This decision was made on July 29, as reported in the article in the Parliamentary Newspaper .
The government will determine what data exactly needs to be transferred to Roskomnadzor.
Bloggers who do not provide their data will be prohibited from posting advertisements and receiving donations.
Also, such pages will be subject to a ban on reposts.
Chairman of the State Duma IT Committee Alexander Khinshtein explained that the transfer of data to Roskomnadzor will be voluntary. Refusal is not a ban on running a channel.
Bloggers who submit information about themselves will receive a verification icon that will be visible to users.
