A fine of 50 thousand rubles is imposed for gaining access to prohibited information.

In the case of YouTube and the use of a VPN for its operation, there are no restrictions.

Lawyer Alexander Khaminsky shared his opinion on this matter with NEWS.ru.

He explained that using VPN services may result in liability.

This will happen if harm is caused to government structures.

Khaminsky explained that citizens are not subject to liability for using VPNs to access YouTube.

Exceptions may be made in cases where the use of software causes damage to the operator’s equipment and technical means of the state.

Liability will also arise for distributing prohibited information or providing access to it to third parties.

The lawyer also recalled that in the Russian Federation, it has recently been prohibited to provide information about methods and ways to bypass blocking.
