Japan has officially relaxed restrictions on the export of cars with a mild hybrid system to Russians.
This decision was the result of clarification of the sanctions wording.
Russians now have the opportunity to import cars with electric installations from Honda, Suzuki, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Mercedes and Audi. This is reported by RBC .
Previously, despite the existence of sanctions, there was no explicit ban on the export of “soft” hybrids.
Initially, Japanese authorities did not plan to include hybrid cars with low-power electric motors in the list of goods subject to sanctions.
However, due to uncertainty in the interpretation of the rules, Japanese exporters have been wary of deals with any vehicles with hybrid systems.
After a decline in car sales, Japanese experts have discovered that exporting mild hybrids is still possible.
As a result, restrictions on the export of cars such as the Honda Fit, CR-Z, Insight, Nissan Day-Z, Suzuki Swift, Mazda Flair and many others were lifted.
It is important to note that not all hybrids were included in the sanctions relief.
The restrictions have been lifted only for models with certain types of engines. Therefore, not all hybrid vehicles can be exported.
However, these changes expand opportunities for Russians willing to buy and export “mild” hybrids.
