Recently, the Russian Ministry of Transport proposed changes to the traffic regulations.
These changes concern the use of devices that may distract drivers while driving.
Experts commented in a conversation with the publication RBC on whether Russians will be fined for navigators.
The Ministry of Transport wants to ban the use of distracting devices while driving.
However, lawyer Ekaterina Lebedeva believes that the new rules will not apply to navigators on smartphones.
She is confident that there will be no punishment for using navigation systems.
Lawyer Aminat Getazheeva also supports this opinion.
She says that the changes to the traffic rules are more of a cosmetic nature.
This means that some points regarding outdated wording will be clarified.
Getazheeva also explained that many rules have become irrelevant.
In her opinion, there will be no total fines for navigators or other devices in the car.
