In a maximum security penal colony, prisoners celebrated a birthday.
In a photograph, possibly from a security camera, prisoners are seated at two tables with an abundance of food.
Approximately 40 people attended the celebration, Izvestia writes, citing footage at its disposal.
On the tables you can see a variety of dishes and snacks: shashlik, pastries, salads, watermelons.
The photograph presumably depicts a celebration in one of the Mordovian colonies.
Sources claim the photo could have been taken at the end of July this year.
A request with an attached photograph from the birthday of one of the prisoners was sent to the Federal Penitentiary Service.
The department promised to conduct an inspection at the colony to get to the bottom of the story.
They also reported that in correctional institutions, convicts can order and purchase food products through the institution’s store in the manner established by the rules.
In addition, they can use the money they earn from production and from relatives to buy food.
