More than 30 residents of a gypsy village in the Leningrad region received summonses for military registration.
The incident with the traffic police officers occurred in the village of Verkhnie Oselki in the Vsevolozhsk region.
The inspectors tried to detain the traffic violator, but the crowd got in the way, RIA Novosti reports.
Local residents in one of the courtyards prevented law enforcement officers from detaining the offender.
The traffic police officers had to deal with aggressive behavior of local residents.
As a result, four gypsies ended up in the department, including a driver without a license. He subsequently received three days of administrative arrest.
Following this incident, an inspection of the gypsy camp in Verkhnie Oselki was organised.
During the investigation, searches were conducted in the houses. 32 men were taken to the police station and received summonses for military registration.
In addition, it turned out that many houses in Verkhnie Oselki were illegally built and could be subject to demolition.
