An expert has warned Russians about the increased activity of scammers who are approaching people under the guise of Rosseti employees.
Alla Khrapunova, curator of the People's Front platform "Moshelovka", shared a comment on this topic.
According to the expert, recently Russians have been contacted by criminals who claim to be employees of Rosseti, RIA Novosti reports.
They convince apartment owners to install or replace meters to record the electricity they consume.
The main goal of this legend is to gain access to Russians’ accounts on “Gosuslugi”.
During communication with potential victims, scammers ask for personal information and request a password for “Gosuslugi”.
Experts have previously warned repeatedly that sensitive information (passwords, logins, passport details, etc.) should not be disclosed to strangers.
At the same time, scammers are attacking Russians on behalf of the State Archives. They report that there are supposedly old letters addressed to them that for some reason did not arrive.
Russians are asked to sign up and give an SMS code that comes to their phone. In reality, it is not a sign-up that occurs, but an account or banking hack.
