It is noted that on October 16, the Basmanny Court of Moscow arrested the official for 2 months. He will remain in custody until December 14.
It is noted that the defendant in the case faces 8 to 15 years in prison if his guilt is proven.
Circumstances of the case
As the investigation found out, Alexander Petrochenko received a bribe in an especially large amount. The amount received by the official is not disclosed.
It is noted that the investigator insisted on the arrest, since he believed that, if at liberty, the defendant in the case could influence its course.
Law enforcement agencies believed that Petrochenko had the power to use his connections to confuse the investigation and lead it to a dead end.
At the same time, the defense insisted on refusing to arrest him, since the official had previously received numerous awards and merits.
