A weather forecaster shared a forecast about a magnetic storm approaching the Earth.
This comment was given by the leading specialist of the Phobos weather center, Mikhail Leus, in his Telegram channel.
According to the expert, a new period of activity is now beginning on the Sun. It started on Tuesday and will continue until Saturday evening.
Leus recalled that the solar activity was provoked by a powerful flare that had previously occurred on the Sun.
Therefore, on Thursday at 9 pm Moscow time, Russia will be covered by a weak magnetic storm of class G1.
However, there is no time to relax: the next day it will intensify. It is predicted that the activity will begin to increase further, and by Friday evening the strength of magnetic oscillations will increase to class G3.
The magnetic storm will last until the evening of the next day and will subside by 9 pm on Saturday.
Leus also did not rule out that magnetic storms could cause the northern lights effect in some regions of the country, as well as cause disruptions in the operation of power and communication systems.
