Fines of up to 60 million threatened for forging documents for migrants

The State Duma has adopted a law toughening penalties for forging documents for illegal migration.

Now legal entities that issue fictitious documents for migrants in Russia face fines of up to 60 million rubles.

The bill was developed by State Duma deputies and supported by the Russian government, the Supreme Court and the Investigative Committee. RIA Novosti reports this.

The law concerns not only violations of migration rules, but also the production of fictitious documents that violate current Russian laws.

According to the new regulations, the first violation will result in a fine of 5 to 10 million rubles. A repeat violation will cost 60 million rubles and confiscation.

In addition, fines for forgery of personal documents, seals, stamps and forms have been increased.

Such actions will be punishable by a fine of 40 to 80 thousand rubles, repeated offenses - up to 200 thousand rubles with confiscation of the instruments used to commit the crime.

The bill was developed in the State Duma, reviewed and supported by the government, the Supreme Court and the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.
